Dino Valls *1959 Zaragoza
With a hyperrealistic painting style, Dino Valls presents surrealistic scenes that astonish the viewer. It is impossible to escape the gaze of the "main actors": They look you straight in the eye. The artist unmasks obvious things and leaves the viewer in doubt about what reality is. The motifs are admirable and confusing at the same time.
We can't escape the bewildered and anxious glances of the figures, their eyes tell stories that we don't understand as if they are waiting for something we can't fulfill. The ancient Chambers of Wonders, the baroque still lifes and portraits as well as the old techniques of the Flemish and Italian masters serve him as a basis on which he transfers new artistic themes of the 21st century.
The artist has exhibited in numerous museums in Europe and his work is part of important American collections.
