Onay Rosquet. *1987, Havana
The young, upcoming Cuban artist Onay Rosquet inspires with his hyperrealistic and large-format works, produced in series, above all through precision and independence. His unique style, which does not obey trends or commercial tendencies, is reminiscent of the renaissance Trompe-l'œil painting, but nevertheless refers to today's spirit.
He developed from a work influenced by the fine arts to a personal style of hyperrealism. In the years 2000-2001 he participated in a workshop led by José Pérez Olivares at the Antonia Eiriz studio workshops. In addition to international exhibitions, his works are already part of private collections in the United States, Colombia, Italy, Germany, Mexico, Norway, Great Britain, Switzerland and Cuba.
