Alberto Hernández *1959 Béjar-Salamanca
Alberto Hernández has been researching ceramic processes for over 25 years, inventing a new field of painting. His works are created in direct confrontation with fire: the artist paints directly in the flames and works with the effects of smoke. The technical difficulty, rapid movements and extreme physical conditions pose a challenge that puts the artist under strong pressure. This way of working leads to a unique expression and to new, fascinating surfaces.
In recent years, new nuances and new themes have emerged, and a complementary change to sculpture and drawing offers a new dimension to his usual themes. His works have been exhibited in museums in Germany and Spain and are in private collections in Germany, USA, Mexico, Canada, France, Israel, Switzerland, Belgium, Netherlands, Portugal and Spain.
