Carlos Albert. *1978, Madrid
"The traces of the material leave behind a series of wounds that are like an outcry from the soul of the piece. It seems very interesting to me to show this."
Carlos Albert studied fine arts at the Facultad de Bellas Artes in Madrid, at the C.E.P.A. in Luxembourg and at the Camberwell College of Art in London. Starting from the purest Spanish tradition, Carlos Albert shows us with his energy that the ambition can be maintained to master the material, to bend iron, to fight fire and to create sculptures full of life and emotion with his personal fingerprint. Albert also makes monumental corten-steel sculptures for public spaces. His pieces are drawings in the air that embrace emptiness and express themselves through freedom. His works have already been shown in numerous international solo and group exhibitions and have been awarded renowned prizes for sculpture.
